Bride style try-on session

Calling all our 2022-2023 brides! It’s your time to shine! Wedding season is a joyful and transitional time in our lives, but it can also feel stressful and our to-do lists are never ending. At Prept, we know you’ve already got a lot on your plate so let us help check your looks off that list.

As a soon-to-be bride, I’m super excited for all the beautiful bridal looks but don’t want to break the bank. I’ve always wondered what online wedding dresses looked like in person and was happy to create an honest review for all the brides out there looking for a second opinion. All reviews are solely my opinion, and all individual body types vary, so note that while something may not have worked for me, it certainly can work for you. In fact, I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone and try on new styles!

I’ve included everything from bridal gowns, bachelorette dresses, bridal shower dresses, rehearsal dinner and engagement photo options. Scroll below to find out more and shop the links!

Event: Wedding Ceremony

Brand: Showpo

Price: $199.95

Sizes: 0-16

Size Worn: 10

Review: I wasn’t sure what to think of this one when first opening it. This was my first time trying an online-only wedding dress and I was pleasantly surprised. The train is longer than expected and it hugs your body pretty well. However, the sizing felt a bit off, as the waist fit fine but the chest area was too big. If I kept it, I would have to get it tailored to fit just right so I would have to factor that into the price.

Cons - Heavy Material (would not work well for a summer wedding), shows signs of undergarment lines if you don’t wear spanx underneath

Pros - Affordable & Similar Style to Bridal Boutiques

Event: Wedding Ceremony

Brand: Showpo

Price: $239.95

Sizes: 0-16

Size Purchased: 10

Review: This was the only garment I ordered for this try-on haul that I felt was not worth showing off. The style looked super pretty online, but was a flop for me. It’s pricier than the other showpo dress yet the pearl straps and dress material seemed cheap.

Cons - Cheap material, pearl straps seemed like they would easily rip off if caught on something

Pros - Style of dress (would probably work best on a different body type)

Event: Wedding Ceremony

Brand: Lulus

Price: $119

Sizes: XS-XL

Size Worn: M

Review: I’ve heard good things about wedding dresses at Lulus, especially for price conscious brides. Unfortunately, the sizing did not work well for me. I’m usually a true Medium in Lulus dresses. I’m not sure if it was the lace details or dress style in general, but it seemed to run small. In addition, the slit went up way too high, the back clasp didn’t close and overall I was uncomfortable. However, the reviews online are GLOWING and reviewers' photos look spectacular in this dress so I’m gonna go ahead and say it depends on your body type & height!

Cons - Slit too high, doesn’t seem true to size, material feels restrictive, train is NOT as long as the model’s photo

Pros - Lace details are pretty, back is unique & beautiful

Event: Wedding Ceremony

Brand: Asos

Price: $225

Sizes: 0-14

Size Worn: 8

Review: This was my favorite out of the wedding gown options. I highly recommend this dress for any fall or winter brides. It is so simple, yet chic and stunning. It hugs you in the right places. Note that the satin is not going to feel or sit on your body the way a silk wedding dress would, the materials are very different. It also has a beautiful open back. I would love to walk down the aisle with something similar. Asos truly does deliver!

Cons - No train, most likely a fall or winter bridal dress

Pros - Style and price!

Event: Bridal Shower

Brand: Lovers & Friends (Revolve)

Price: $198

Sizes: XS-L

Size Worn: M

Review: Ok so I know this isn’t your typical white bridal shower dress, but hear me out. If embodying Blair Waldorf is your vibe, then this is the dress for you! I saw this on the Revolve website and knew it would be a unique addition to my try-on lineup. I usually don’t like mini dresses because of my height, but I ended up loving it. The gold button details are SO classy and make you feel like you’re wearing a super expensive designer piece (ahem CHANEL).

I can assure you that anything off Revolve will be worth your money. It’s also super comfortable and makes you feel like a classy mimosa drinkin’ babe!

Cons - Could be too short for women over 5’7, need to wear spanx underneath to hide undergarments

Pros - Unique purchase, Quality

Event: Bridal Shower, Bach Weekend, Engagement Photos

Brand: L*SPACE (Revolve)

Price: $154

Sizes: XS-L

Size Worn: M

Review: I usually stay away from puff sleeves, but made an exception with this dress. I ended up loving the way it looked on me and how effortlessly trendy it was. Due to the material, you have to steam the dress to get rid of the wrinkles. I do think that could be kinda annoying for someone who might not own a steamer or doesn’t have the patience for that. However, it would be a great dress for spring or summer and would look super cute with a pop of color or espadrille wedges.

Cons - Gets wrinkled easily, chest area might not work depending on body type

Pros - Super cute and girly!

Event: Bach Weekend

Brand: Superdown (Revolve)

Price: $74

Sizes: XXS-XL

Size Worn: M

Review: YESSSS! This dress deserves an applause. From the fit, style and price, it’s a winner for me. This would be perfect for a night out in Miami or Vegas with your girls. Also, I tried to make a fancy martini to show off the right vibes but seltzer will have to do.

Cons - None

Pros - Ruching, sexy back details!

Event: Rehearsal Dinner, Bach Weekend, Engagement Photos

Brand: Lulus

Price: $68

Sizes: XXS-XL

Size Worn: M

Review: This jumpsuit was absolutely stunning. I felt so good in it! I’m obsessed and would buy in every color for every occasion if I could.

Cons - Could be too long for petite women

Pros - The details, the style, the fit, COMFORTABLE

Event: Bach Weekend, Bridal Shower, Engagement Photos, Rehearsal Dinner

Brand: Lulus

Price: $69

Sizes: XXS-XL

Size Worn: M

Review: Saved the best for last! This was my favorite item out of the try-on. I was torn but I felt like a star in this dress (hence my happy face pictured). It’s beautiful, trendy, flirty with the right touch of feminine. Please go buy this!

Cons - None

Pros - All the little details
